Why did Father drill in our heads in anticipation of entering the land of promise–over and over–the idea of blessings to be had if we stayed/remained in His Torah and curses if we strayed from His Torah? I have some thoughts and reflections to share that may shed some light on this subject as well as a challenge to every believer in Y’shua Messiah.
Matthew 4 and Luke 4 record Satan’s tempting of Y’shua (Jesus) in the wilderness and how Y’shua was able to overcome those temptations. This event provides the Torah observing believer in Y’shua Messiah with an example and prescription for defeating Satan and his temptations. I discuss this crucial issue along with some other thoughts and reflections on this Sabbath Day.

Prudence, indeed, will dictate that Governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes; and accordingly all experience hath shewn, that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed. But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security.
